BCG—Global Digital Marketing Specialist - SEO/GEO/AEO

Job description

Description: Who We Are Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation-inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom-line impact. To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive. What You'll Do We're seeking an SEO/GEO/AEO Specialist to support our global SEO and discoverability strategy. You'll execute across keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO, and modern search discoverability research and implementation (including AI-driven and zero-click experiences) — working directly with our Digital Content Strategy team to ensure content is findable, well-structured, and aligned to how today’s users search and find content online. Day-to-day, this means producing keyword research, answering stakeholder questions about SEO and discoverability platforms, running site audits, implementing on-page optimizations, and supporting actionable performance reporting that can be used to inform optimizations. You’ll use tools like Semrush, Google Search Console, Adobe Analytics, and more. You'll coordinate with editorial teams to translate SEO guidance into action, and flag gaps and opportunities as you find them. You’ll also identify opportunities to improve how our content is structured and understood by search engines and AI systems (e.g., extractability, internal linking, and structured data). Where relevant, you’ll adapt content to increase visibility in features like snippets, AI summaries, and other zero-click surfaces. This includes optimizing content for visibility in answer engines and AI-powered search experiences, not just traditional rankings. What You'll Bring You must have: - 3-5 years of hands-on SEO experience, with exposure to both content and technical workstreams - Ability to read content with an SEO lens — identifying structural, intent, or keyword issues at the page level - Ability to triage a site audit and prioritize fixes by business impact, not just severity - Experience executing SEO requests and documenting optimizations in a structured, trackable way - Demonstrated ability to execute on-page optimizations and keyword research independently - Experience producing SEO reports with plain-language context for non-SEO stakeholders, not raw data pulls - Experience measuring performance beyond rankings (e.g., impressions, snippet capture, zero-click impact) - Familiarity with how AI-driven search experiences (e.g., Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity) are changing content discoverability - Curiosity about emerging search paradigms, including generative/LLM-driven discovery - Working proficiency with Semrush, Google Search Console, Adobe Analytics or comparable platforms - Strong written English communication skills for interfacing with a global team Preferred: - Prior experience in a B2B or large-scale content environment - Familiarity with site crawl tools such as Screaming Frog or Sitebulb - A portfolio of past SEO work — demonstrated results matter more than credentials Additional info YOU’RE GOOD AT - Working independently and delivering against defined milestones without needing close oversight — you take ownership of your workstream and follow through - Communicating clearly across teams — you can explain SEO concepts to non-technical stakeholders without losing them in jargon - Understanding how search behavior is evolving beyond traditional rankings (e.g., AI-generated answers, zero-click results) and adapting accordingly - Connecting keyword intent to broader user journeys, not just individual queries - Reading a piece of content and diagnosing why it may not be performing — thin coverage, intent mismatch, poor structure — and knowing how to fix - Structuring content so it is easily interpreted, extracted, and surfaced by search engines and AI systems - Staying detail-oriented under competing priorities — you're thorough in execution and know when to escalate versus when to move forward - Spotting patterns in data and turning them into clear, actionable recommendations - Adapting quickly in a global, fast-paced environment where priorities can shift At BCG, our people and relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that in-person collaboration plays an important role in our culture, mentorship, and professional development. For this role, you will generally be expected to work from a BCG office or in person with clients on a regular basis (typically around 50% of working time), depending on business needs and in line with local policies and practices. We aim to provide a dynamic and collaborative environment that fosters connection and teamwork. Boston Consulting Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
