Uber—Marketing Manager I

Job description

Description: About the Role Uber is part of everyday life in India. Our ambition is to make it just as relevant in culture and conversation. The Creator & Social Marketing Manager will help build Uber India's always on creator and social ecosystem — identifying the right voices, communities and cultural moments that can make the brand more distinctive, talked about and relevant among the Indian GenZ audiences. You'll work across creators, social platforms, agencies and internal teams to develop an always-on engine of culturally relevant content, complemented by bigger cultural spikes around moments that matter. This isn't simply about managing influencers or delivering posts. You'll help shape our always-on creator strategy, deciding who Uber partners with, the brand’s tone, what conversations we participate in, and how creator marketing contributes to both brand and business growth. What the Candidate Will Do Build Uber India's Creator Ecosystem - Build and manage a diverse roster of creators across culture, entertainment, sport, lifestyle and emerging communities. - Identify rising creators and cultural voices before they become mainstream. - Develop relationships that move Uber from transactional influencer campaigns towards longer-term creator partnerships. - Balance large creators with emerging and regional voices based on the role each can play. - Build clear creator selection criteria based on audience, cultural relevance, brand fit and effectiveness. Drive Social & Creative Excellence - Develop creator-first ideas designed for social rather than adapting traditional advertising. - Partner with creators and agencies to produce distinctive, entertaining and culturally relevant content. - Raise the bar on social creativity while maintaining Uber's brand standards. Build an Always-On Cultural Engine - Develop an always-on creator and social calendar that keeps Uber part of everyday conversation. - Identify cultural moments across entertainment, music, sport, internet culture and everyday Indian life where Uber can credibly participate. - Build a system that enables the team to move quickly when cultural opportunities emerge. Measurement & Optimisation - Establish clear measurement frameworks for creator and social programs. - Track effectiveness beyond reach and engagement, including brand and business outcomes where possible. - Build benchmarks across creators, formats, platforms and content territories. - Conduct regular performance reviews and translate learnings into future investment decisions. Creator agency & Creator Management - Manage creator, influencer and social agency partners. - Own creator briefing, contracting, content development, approvals and delivery. - Ensure work is delivered at speed, on budget and to a high creative standard. - Build efficient ways of working that allow Uber, agencies and creators to respond quickly to opportunities. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner closely with Brand, Operations, Communications, Policy, Performance, CRM, R&I and Legal. - Identify opportunities where creators can support broader business and reputation priorities. - Build strong relationships across India, APAC and Global Social teams to bring best practices into the market. What the Candidate Will Need - 7+ years of experience across creator marketing, influencer marketing, social media, brand marketing or culturally led marketing. - Strong understanding of India's creator ecosystem, social platforms and internet culture. - Experience working directly with creators, talent managers and influencer/social agencies. - Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple creators and workstreams simultaneously. - Comfortable using data and measurement to evaluate creator effectiveness and make investment decisions. - Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills. - Fluency in English; additional Indian-language fluency is an advantage. Preferred Qualifications - Culture obsessed: You understand what's happening in culture and on the internet — and, more importantly, why people care about it. - Creator native: You understand that creators are creative partners, not simply media inventory. - Great taste: You have strong creative judgement and can distinguish content people genuinely want to watch from branded content they're likely to skip. - Platform fluent: You understand how content and audience behaviour differ across Instagram, YouTube and emerging social platforms. - Curious about what's next: You're constantly discovering emerging creators, communities, formats and cultural behaviours. - Collaborative: You can bring creators, agencies and internal stakeholders together without sanding away the creativity that made the idea interesting in the first place.
