This role demands a deep understanding of gold valuation techniques, market trends, and regulatory compliance to ensure accurate assessment and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting the bank's gold loan portfolio by providing precise appraisals that align with the bank’s lending policies and contribute to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Responsibilities:- - Conduct thorough physical inspection and verification of gold items submitted for loan processing, ensuring authenticity and quality standards. - Accurately assess the purity, weight, and market value of gold assets using industry-standard tools and techniques. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of gold market trends, price fluctuations, and regulatory guidelines affecting gold loan valuations. - Prepare detailed appraisal reports and documentation to support loan sanctioning decisions in compliance with bank policies. - Collaborate with the credit and risk teams to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with gold loan collateral. - Ensure adherence to all regulatory and internal audit requirements related to gold appraisal and loan processing. - Train and mentor junior staff on gold appraisal procedures and quality standards to maintain consistency and accuracy. - Manage and maintain appraisal equipment and tools, ensuring calibration and functionality for precise measurements. - Engage with customers professionally to explain appraisal outcomes and address any queries related to gold loan valuations. - Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of gold loan operations.
