Description: Position Details: Job Title: Asst. Manager – Maintenance Department: Engineering & Maintenance Location: Erode Reporting to: Plant Engineer Grade/Band: Manager/ Middle Management Employment Type: ☐ Permanent☐ Contract ☐ Consultant ☐ Internship Job Purpose To lead the Engineering & Maintenance function by ensuring maximum availability and reliability of PVC extrusion equipment, utilities, infrastructure, automation systems, and engineering projects while optimizing maintenance cost, energy consumption, equipment life cycle, safety, and production efficiency. The role is responsible for driving Reliability Engineering, Predictive Maintenance, Energy Management, Capex execution, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve world-class manufacturing performance. Key Responsibilities · Develop engineering and maintenance strategies aligned with business objectives. · Ensure maximum equipment reliability and plant availability. · Drive asset reliability, lifecycle management, and operational excellence. · Lead preventive, predictive, and reliability-centred maintenance programs. · Oversee utilities, infrastructure, and plant engineering operations. · Lead installation, commissioning, and execution of Capex projects. · Drive automation, digitalization, and Industry 4.0 initiatives. · Optimize maintenance costs, utility consumption, and asset utilization. · Champion TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and OEE improvement initiatives. · Ensure statutory, environmental, and safety compliance. · Lead energy conservation, sustainability, and carbon reduction initiatives. · Manage engineering budgets, resource planning, and vendor performance. · Build high-performing engineering teams through coaching and succession planning. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational and business objectives. · Monitor engineering KPIs and drive continuous improvement across the plant. Compliance & Governance · Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company requirements. · Drive compliance with ISO, EHS, and applicable management systems. · Lead internal, external, customer, and statutory audits. · Ensure implementation of engineering standards, SOPs, and governance practices. · Promote a culture of safety, ethics, risk management & continuous compliance Educational Qualification Essential: · B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Electrical Preferred: · Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Experience · Minimum Experience Required: 12–18 years in PVC Pipe/Plastic Extrusion Manufacturing. · Minimum 5 years in a leadership role handling maintenance, utilities, projects, and engineering teams. Preferred Experience: · Industry: PVC Pipe/Plastic Extrusion Manufacturing · Functional Area: Engineering & Maintenance · Relevant Exposure: Maintenance, Utilities, Capex Projects, Reliability Engineering, Energy Management, TPM, PLC/VFD, ISO & Statutory Compliance.
