Principal Reponsibilities

5.1 Patient Management:

• Is responsible and accountable for the delivery of care provided in accordance with organization/department philosophy
• Demonstrates skill in implementing comprehensive and thorough assessment of patient’s specific need.
• Able to implement delivery of care based on research and /or current best practice.
• Assist the Nursing Supervisor or ANS in developing short and long range goals and objective for the unit and to be aware of the departments performance.
• Ensures the skill of individual staff is matched to the individual needs of patients.
• Is responsible for the implementation of policies which enable most effective use of nursing resources.
• Ensures that all practices are within the guideline set by the department and are in accordance with organization policy.
• Ensures the implementation of all NABH standards.
• Ensures accuracy and completion of nursing documentation within the time frame.
• Ensures customer friendly service is promoted to the staff through role modelling.
• Actively participates in the preceptor programme by inducting new personal to job requirement, Equipment and unit or Hospital system as required.
• To liaise with designated junior registered nurse to ensure their Nursing care plans reflect the findings of their assessment and assists in the identification of less predictable patient problems.
