Job description
Clinical Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients in ICU, HDU, and emergency situations.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
- Manage patients requiring invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support.
- Perform ICU procedures including:
- Central venous catheterization
- Arterial line insertion
- Endotracheal intubation
- Tracheostomy care
- Pleural procedures
- Advanced airway management
- Monitor and interpret laboratory investigations, radiology reports, and critical care parameters.
- Lead resuscitation efforts and Code Blue responses.
Patient Care Management
- Conduct daily ICU rounds and review patient progress.
- Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding prognosis, treatment plans, and outcomes.
- Ensure timely documentation of clinical findings and treatment plans.
- Coordinate patient transfers within and outside the hospital when required.
Quality & Safety
- Adhere to hospital policies, NABH standards, infection control protocols, and patient safety guidelines.
- Participate in mortality and morbidity reviews.
- Monitor quality indicators and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure rational use of antibiotics and adherence to antimicrobial stewardship programs.
