Experience: 7–8 Years Role: SAP IS-U Billing & Device Management Consultant Employment Type: Full-Time Role Overview We are looking for an experienced SAP IS-U Billing & Device Management Consultant with 7–8 years of hands-on experience in SAP IS-U, with strong expertise in Billing, Device Management, and integration with related IS-U components. The candidate will be responsible for solution design, configuration, implementation, testing, production support, and resolving complex business and technical issues. Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and implement SAP IS-U Billing and Device Management solutions.
Work on end-to-end IS-U processes including Meter-to-Cash (M2C).
Configure and support:
Billing master data
Rate categories and rate determination
Rate facts and operands
Billing schemas and billing procedures
Portion, schedule records, and billing periods
Installation and contract-related billing processes
Billing and invoicing processes
Hands-on experience in Device Management covering:
Technical master data
Device installation/removal
Device replacement
Device modifications
Meter reading processes
Meter reading orders and results
Register and measuring point management
Device allocation and equipment management
Understand and support integration between Device Management, Billing, Invoicing, FI-CA, and Customer Service.
Analyze and resolve billing exceptions, meter reading issues, installation issues, and billing discrepancies.
Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, functional specifications, configuration, testing, and deployment.
Prepare functional specifications for enhancements and work closely with ABAP developers.
Support SIT, UAT, regression testing, cutover, hypercare, and production support.
Analyze production incidents and provide root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
Work with business stakeholders to understand utility business requirements and translate them into SAP IS-U solutions.
Support data migration activities related to IS-U master and transactional data.
Prepare process documentation, configuration documents, test scenarios, and user guides.
Required Technical Skills
7–8 years of SAP IS-U experience with strong hands-on expertise in Billing.
Strong experience in SAP IS-U Device Management.
Good understanding of the complete Meter-to-Cash process.
Strong knowledge of:
SAP IS-U Billing
Device Management
Meter Reading
Installation
Contract Account / Contract
Invoicing
FI-CA integration
Good understanding of IS-U master data and technical master data.
Experience with SAP IS-U configuration and troubleshooting.
Good knowledge of integration points between IS-U and FI/CO, CRM/Customer Service, and external systems.
Ability to understand ABAP developments, user exits, BADIs, function modules, and custom enhancements from a functional perspective.
Experience working with interfaces/APIs and third-party systems in utility environments is desirable.
Preferred Skills
Experience in SAP S/4HANA Utilities.
Experience with SAP IS-U on S/4HANA transformation or implementation projects.
Exposure to SAP Fiori and modern S/4HANA user interfaces.
Knowledge of EDM, AMI/Smart Metering, interval data, and TOU billing is an advantage.
Experience with SAP Integration Suite/CPI or other integration technologies is desirable.
Exposure to utility-specific processes such as electricity/gas/water distribution.
Experience in implementation, rollout, upgrade, or AMS/support projects.
