Mechanical Engineer – R&D | Low Voltage Switchboard
Job Location: Thane
Job Purpose / Scope
Responsible for the design, development, testing and certification of Low Voltage (LV) Switchboards, covering mechanical and electro-mechanical aspects. The role involves concept development, detailed engineering, preparation of manufacturing documentation, technical support to license partners, execution of type-tests and certification, and coordination with cross-functional teams, vendors and testing agencies. The position requires hands-on experience in 3D/2D mechanical design, sheet-metal design and electro-mechanical product development.
2. Educational Qualification Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering. Relevant experience in LV switchboard / electrical panel design will be an added advantage.
3. Experience & Technical Skills A) Mandatory:
- Experience in electro-mechanical design of Low Voltage Switchboards / electrical panels.
- Knowledge/experience of type-testing and certification of LV switchboards.
- Knowledge of IEC/IS 61439-1 & 61439-2 and IEC/TR 61641.
- Overall, 4–5 years of experience in sheet-metal component and assembly design.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with 3D mechanical CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with engineering documentation and design release processes.
