Job description
We are looking for an experienced Engineer III specializing in Embedded, Cloud, and Networking Technologies. In this role, you will bridge the gap between low-level hardware/firmware, edge device networking, and cloud-native ingestion platforms. You will design, build, and deploy secure, end-to-end connected device ecosystems—from microcontrollers and Linux gateways up to real-time telemetry analytics in the cloud. Key Responsibilities
- Firmware & Embedded Software Development: Write, test, and optimize production-grade firmware (C/C++, FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux) for edge microcontrollers, sensors, and gateway devices (e.g., ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi, custom SBCs).
- Network & Connectivity Layer Integration: Implement secure communication protocols (MQTT/TLS, CoAP, WebSockets, gRPC, TCP/IP) and interface with physical transport networks (Wi-Fi, Cellular/LTE, BLE, LoRaWAN, Ethernet).
- Cloud Platform Integration: Connect edge fleets to cloud IoT backends (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, GCP IoT) and build pipeline logic for device provisioning, remote management, Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware updates, and time-series telemetry processing.
- Full-Stack & Dashboards: Develop microservices (Node.js, Python/FastAPI) and front-end monitoring tools (React) to visualize fleet health, telemetry logs, and control remote edge assets in real time.
- Security & Device Identity: Implement hardware-root-of-trust security, X.509 certificate provisioning, end-to-end encryption, and secure boot across embedded devices and cloud API gateways.
- DevOps, Automation & CI/CD: Build containerized edge deployments (Docker, AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge) and set up continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for firmware and cloud releases.
- Field Testing & System Validation: Lead integration testing on physical hardware setups, simulate adverse network conditions (latency, intermittent drops), and support operational detachments or field-site deployments for root-cause diagnosis.
