Job Description for HS&E: As part of the HS&E job family, the Band 1 role plays a crucial role in supporting and assisting the execution of strategies within our team and organization. This role is ideal for individuals who are looking to grow and persevere in a stable external business environment.
The HSE Data Systems Owner is the CF-HSE business lead for the day-to-day operation, governance, improvement and user enablement of core HSE data systems and reporting. The role connects HSE business processes, system data, analytics and user support so that leaders and sites can use reliable information for risk management, compliance oversight and decision-making.
The role requires a distinctive combination of HSE process knowledge, data and analytics capability, application management, disciplined execution and customer focus. It works closely with HSE business owners, subject-matter experts, data engineers, digital product teams, vendors and regional or site users.
Key Responsibilities: A. HSE Works and enterprise application ownership
Act as the CF-HSE business focal point for HSE Works modules in scope, including incidents, near miss, KEA, FLRA/ORA, internal compliance, qualified leaders and working-hours/TIR reporting.
Understand user needs and business processes, translate them into clear system requirements, and help determine when standard application functionality should be used instead of customization.
Manage user feedback, issue resolution, enhancement requests, testing, training, deployment and adoption in partnership with the delivery product manager, vendors and HSE subject-matter experts.
Maintain clear application documentation, admin instructions, access arrangements, decision history and continuity plans.
Support selected HSE enterprise solutions and integrations assigned to the role, including HSE Help Requests and related reporting.
B. Power BI reporting and analytics
Own and maintain designated CF-HSE Power BI reports, including the live HSE report, near-miss reporting, HSE resources and other assigned dashboards.
Protect report accuracy by managing data relationships, date logic, master-event handling, calculation logic, reporting refreshes and monthly frozen-report processes.
Create and enhance dashboards that help leaders and sites identify risk, monitor compliance, track action-plan completion and focus intervention.
Document report purpose, users, owners, source data, refresh frequency, change history and backup support in the CF-HSE Power BI registry.
Provide technical troubleshooting and guidance to dashboard owners and users.
C. HSE data governance and data integrity
Maintain HSE data integrity, structure and reporting practices, including source-of-truth expectations for HSEWorks, Power BI and approved shared data locations.
Coordinate monthly data-quality checks and follow the agreed HSE reporting RASCI and validation deadlines.
Partner with data engineering to add, structure and validate HSE tables in approved data platforms for reporting, citizen development, machine learning and AI use cases.
· Manage or support access requests for HSE data and ensure permissions are traceable and appropriate.
Document data flows, naming conventions, ownership, calculation rules and critical dependencies.
D. SharePoint, knowledge and access administration
Administer assigned HSE SharePoint sites and support the modern SharePoint operating model, including site setup, standard templates, naming conventions, permissions and content organization.
Maintain HSE resources and other central HSE content so employees can find authoritative information easily.
Coordinate distribution lists, access groups and workspace permissions for assigned solutions.
Create practical user instructions and training for SharePoint and related HSE digital tools.
E. Service, support and continuous improvement
Manage HSE Help Requests as a significant part of the role, including triage, investigation, resolution, trend analysis, backlog control and escalation.
Use help-request and user-feedback data to identify root causes, recurring issues and improvement priorities.
Develop communications, release notes, office hours, job aids and training that improve user self-sufficiency and adoption.
Establish sustainable backup coverage and knowledge transfer so critical processes are not dependent on one person.
F. Governance and stakeholder leadership
Partner with CF-HSE leadership, HSE 5.0, GBS/digital product teams, HSE data engineering, subject-matter experts, vendors and OU/site HSE leaders.
Prepare recommendations, options and decision materials for product boards and governance reviews.
Track product or service value, user experience and agreed performance indicators, and communicate progress and risks clearly.
Operate with strong information stewardship, change control, documentation and business continuity discipline.
Job Qualifications Basic Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in data analytics, digital systems, application management, business intelligence or a closely related field.
Hands-on experience developing or sustaining Power BI reports and working with structured data sources.
Ability to understand business processes, translate user needs into system or reporting requirements, and manage work through deployment.
Strong problem-solving, documentation and stakeholder-management capability.
Ability to communicate technical concepts in practical language to HSE leaders and users.
Commitment to data integrity, information stewardship, compliance and safe business practices.
5. Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Experience with HSE Works/Enablon or another enterprise EHS platform.
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint administration and OData or similar data connections.
Experience designing relational databases, automating data collection or moving manual Excel processes into governed digital solutions.
Working knowledge of Python, data lakes or enterprise data platforms.
HSE professional experience, HSE leadership qualification or KEA/audit exposure.
Experience implementing SaaS solutions and working with external vendors or managed-service partners.
Experience training users, leading office hours, creating job aids and driving adoption across a global organization.
Experience and/or knowledge on AI compliance and governance either internal or external
