Nephrology Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Setup & Maintenance: Prepare, test, prime, and sterilize dialysis machines, blood tubing, and water treatment (reverse osmosis) systems.
• Patient Preparation & Care: Check pre- and post-dialysis weight, blood pressure, and vital signs, and prep vascular access sites (fistulas, grafts, or catheters).
• Monitoring During Treatment: Watch patients closely throughout the session, track blood flow and fluid removal calculations, and respond to machine alarms or medical emergencies.
• Collaboration & Documentation: Record treatment data in electronic health records (EHR) and update physicians and nurses on patient status.
• Patient Education: Instruct patients on proper access care, fluid/diet restrictions, and prescribed medications
