Job description

Job Summary The Product Functional Test Mechanical Technician supports product functional testing by preparing, assembling, installing, and dismantling test articles and associated test equipment. The role is responsible for instrumentation installation, test-cell setup, test execution support, preliminary troubleshooting, and maintenance of laboratory and test-cell equipment. The position requires a strong understanding of engine test-cell operations, engine components, test equipment, and established testing procedures to ensure safe, reliable, and accurate test results. The technician works closely with engineers, project teams, and other stakeholders and may support 24/7 test operations. Key Responsibilities Test Article Preparation & Functional Testing

Prepare test articles, engines, fixtures, rigs, and associated equipment in accordance with approved test plans and procedures.
Assemble and disassemble engines and test articles according to test requirements.
Install instrumentation on test articles in accordance with applicable engineering standards and test requirements.
Conduct and monitor engine/product functional tests as defined by the test plan and established test methodologies.
Understand the operation of the product under test and test equipment to assess their impact on the validity and quality of test results.

Preventive and Predictive Maintenance – Uses equipment condition and maintenance information to support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
Data Quality – Identifies and corrects data issues that could affect testing, reporting, or decision-making.
Problem Solving – Uses systematic problem-solving approaches to identify causes, implement data-based solutions, and prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.
A regionally applicable technical certification or a two-year Associate Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field may be required.
Relevant education or training in mechanical, automotive, electrical, instrumentation, or other applicable technical disciplines is preferred.
Some relevant work experience with intermediate technical knowledge gained through education, training, or on-the-job experience is required.
This position may require licensing or compliance with applicable export control or sanctions regulations.
