Job description
Who are we?
At Finastra, we’re a global leader in financial services software, dedicated to expanding access to financial services and shaping what’s next for the industry. Our technology powers mission‑critical solutions across Lending, Payments and Universal Banking, supporting over 7,000 customers, including 80% of the world’s top 50 banks, in more than 110 countries.
Disclaimer
Finastra has signed an agreement to sell its Universal Banking business to Pollen Street Capital, with completion expected end 2026 / early 2027, subject to consultation and customary closing conditions. Upon completion, this role is expected to transition to the standalone Universal Banking business, creating opportunities to support its future growth and success. About the Role
We are building the next generation of corporate banking capabilities using a composable domain service approach, aligned to an agentic platform direction. This represents a shift away from monolithic core systems towards modular, domain-aligned, API-first services that can be delivered incrementally and progressively modernised.
As a Senior Business Analyst for Corporate Banking (Cash & Liquidity), you will play a key role in shaping the domain knowledge, policy definitions, workflow logic and decision models that underpin intelligent banking capabilities. In an agentic platform world, many traditional BA activities, including requirements elaboration, story generation and test scenario creation, will be AI-assisted. The human role therefore shifts from managing artefacts to owning domain intelligence, decision frameworks, governance and measurable business outcomes.
Working closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, architecture and engineering teams, you will translate complex cash and liquidity processes into clear business rules, reusable knowledge models and implementation-ready guidance that support scalable, reusable services and human-in-the-loop operating models.
This role sits within the Corporate Banking Product Management function and supports delivery across foundational domains of the platform.
Domain Scope
You will support capabilities across cash and liquidity, including:
Nostro Management
Bank Limits
Notional Pooling
Credit Lines (liquidity context)
Cash Operations
Virtual Accounts
These capabilities form the backbone of liquidity visibility, control, and operational processing within corporate banking. Knowledge of bilateral and syndicated lending would be beneficial but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Domain and Knowledge Modelling
Develop a strong understanding of end-to-end corporate banking business flows across cash and liquidity domains.
Model business concepts, domain entities, events, relationships and constraints in a way that can be reused across services and agentic workflows.
Capture domain knowledge in clear, structured forms that can support both human decision-making and AI-assisted delivery activities.
Identify gaps, dependencies, boundary conditions and opportunities for simplification or reuse across domain capabilities.
Policy and Rule Definition
Define and maintain business rules, policies, validations, thresholds, exception paths and decision criteria across cash and liquidity processes.
Work with Product Owners and domain experts to ensure rules and policies are accurate, auditable and aligned to business outcomes.
Support governance of domain knowledge so that AI-assisted requirements, stories and test scenarios remain consistent with intended business behaviour.
Clarify business rationale behind decisions, rules and controls to support engineering, architecture and quality assurance.
Workflow and Decision Design
Analyse current-state and target-state workflows, including operational hand-offs, decision points, exception handling and human-in-the-loop interventions.
Design clear workflow and decision models that describe how users, services and agents should interact across a business process.
Translate high-level product intent into structured process flows, decision logic, data expectations and functional outcomes.
Ensure workflow designs support scalable, reusable and domain-aligned service definitions.
AI-Assisted Requirements and Delivery Readiness
Use AI-assisted approaches to accelerate elaboration of requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and test scenarios, while retaining human accountability for accuracy and business intent.
Review, challenge and refine AI-generated artefacts to ensure they are complete, consistent, compliant and fit for engineering consumption.
Ensure traceability from domain goals, policies and business outcomes through to implementation and validation.
Assist in identifying and resolving functional defects, gaps or ambiguities by grounding decisions in documented domain knowledge and business rules.
Collaboration and Governance
Work closely with Product Owners to refine backlog items, clarify decision frameworks and align priorities to domain outcomes.
Partner with engineering teams to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities and support efficient delivery.
Support alignment with architecture, cross-domain dependencies, platform standards and agentic operating models.
Contribute to governance practices that ensure business knowledge, policies and decision logic remain transparent, explainable and reusable.
What Success Looks Like
Clear, reusable domain and knowledge models that help teams understand how cash and liquidity capabilities should behave.
Well-defined business rules, policies, workflows and decision frameworks that reduce ambiguity for engineering teams.
AI-assisted delivery artefacts that are accurate, explainable and anchored in human-owned domain intelligence.
Strong alignment between business objectives, product priorities and delivered capability.
Effective collaboration with Product Owners, engineering, architecture and domain experts.
Measurable contribution to the delivery of cash and liquidity capabilities and to the broader agentic platform direction.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Proven experience as a Business Analyst in banking, financial services or a comparable enterprise software environment.
Strong understanding of one or more of cash management, liquidity management, payments, transaction banking or corporate banking operations.
Ability to understand and describe end-to-end business domain flows, including data, process, policy, decisioning and exception handling.
Experience defining business rules, policies, workflows, process models, data expectations and functional outcomes.
Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving and ability to turn complexity into clear, actionable guidance.
Experience working in agile delivery environments and collaborating closely with product, engineering and architecture teams.
Comfortable using AI-assisted techniques to accelerate analysis and delivery activities, while applying strong judgement and domain ownership.
Desirable
Experience with corporate banking or core banking platforms.
Familiarity with API-based, event-driven or cloud-native architectures.
Exposure to liquidity structures such as notional pooling or intraday liquidity.
Understanding of operational workflows in cash processing environments.
Exposure to knowledge modelling, decision modelling, rules engines, agentic workflows or human-in-the-loop operating models.
Knowledge of bilateral or syndicated lending in a liquidity or corporate banking context
Working Model
You will work as part of a domain-aligned product team alongside:
Product Manager – Corporate Banking
Product Owner – Cash & Liquidity
Engineering squads delivering domain services
Architecture, quality and domain subject matter experts
The role requires close, continuous collaboration across product, engineering, architecture and domain specialists, with a strong emphasis on clarity, governance and delivery readiness.

Domain-aligned, modular service architecture
API-first and event-driven design
Cloud-native deployment
Incremental delivery of business capability

Work on high-impact cash and liquidity use cases that sit at the heart of corporate banking.
Be part of a strategic shift towards domain-led, composable and agentic banking architecture.
