Job description
We are seeking an experienced Substation Structural Senior CAD Technician to join our Substation Structural team in Bengaluru, India, supporting North American substation projects. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for CAD and BIM delivery, coordinate and mentor CAD resources, perform detailed quality reviews, and help the team deliver accurate, coordinated, and constructible civil and structural drawings. This role is well suited to a senior technician or designer with strong experience in structural and civil drafting, multidisciplinary coordination, quality control, and digital delivery for power, utility, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
Technical delivery
- Lead the preparation, review, and delivery of civil, structural, and substation design drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit, and other approved CAD and BIM platforms.
- Develop and maintain 2D drawings (and 3D models) for substation structures, foundations, equipment support structures, control and switchgear buildings, duct banks, cable trenches, site development, grading, drainage, and underground utilities.
- Prepare plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, reinforcement details, structural steel drawings, and fabrication-related drawings based on engineering direction and project requirements.
