Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES/ BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES
Productivity (P)
Develop and modify CNC/VMC programs using G-code/M-code based on engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Plan machining processes, tool selection, work holding and machining sequences.
- Optimize cutting parameters, tool paths and machining methods to reduce cycle time.
- Run program simulations, prove-outs and trial machining before production release.
- Improve machine utilization and productivity through continual improvement initiatives.
- Support production during program-related issues and minimize machine downtime
Quality (Q):
- Ensure CNC programs produce components as per drawing specifications and required tolerances.
- Verify dimensions, GD&T, surface finish and other critical characteristics during prove-out and production.
- Select appropriate tools, cutting parameters and machining strategies to achieve required quality.
- Investigate machining defects and implement corrective/preventive actions.
