Purpose of the Role This role is responsible for managing new part development with suppliers for Body commodity to facilitate timely launch of new products and implementation of changes in existing products. The role ensures defect-free incoming parts, reduction of line fitment issues and elimination of field failures by improving supplier processes, driving APQP/PPAP discipline, tool readiness, process controls and quality performance from supplier to plant and customer. • Analyse part design received from Engineering for manufacturability as part of matched pair team with Engineering and Purchase.
• Engage suppliers during early vehicle development phase through Early Vendor Involvement to ensure quality and timely delivery of new parts.
• Identify and recommend potential suppliers after receiving SOR from Engineering.
• Shortlist suppliers based on technical capabilities through TRSO with Purchase, Engineering and FMQ.
• Participate in DFMEA reviews to ensure past potential design failures are captured in current design.
