Job description
About the role
- As a Software Engineer (Backend), you will drive the design and development of backend systems that support the Tax Information Reporting Suite (TIRS) and Core Services. You will lead backend engineering efforts, build scalable and reliable services, and ensure high‑quality technical delivery.
- In this role, you will own backend architecture, data processing workflows, and integrations across platforms. You will work closely with product, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams to enable smooth releases, efficient deployments, and effective production support.
- You will guide technical decisions, mentor team members, and promote best practices in coding, performance, security, and automation. This position offers a strong opportunity to deepen backend expertise while shaping modern, enterprise‑grade solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
What you will be doing
- Participate actively in release and sprint planning, working with stakeholders to understand scope, priorities, and timelines.
- Independently design and develop high‑quality backend solutions.
- Develop comprehensive unit test cases.
- Quickly debug issues and provide timely fixes with minimal turnaround.
- Understand and enhance existing database stored procedures/SQL and create new ones when needed.
