Staff Nurse - Nursing

A Staff Nurse is a registered healthcare professional who delivers direct, bedside patient care, monitors vital signs, and collaborates with doctors in hospitals and clinics.

Core Responsibilities

• Patient Care & Assessment: Evaluate patient health upon admission, monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, SpO?), and track intake and output.

• Medication & Treatment: Administer prescribed oral medications, injections, and IV fluids safely, following strict patient-identification checks.

• Emergency Response: Assist doctors during medical emergencies, resuscitations, and specialized procedures.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate nursing notes, observation charts, medication logs, and proper shift handovers.

• Infection Control & Safety: Follow aseptic techniques, hand-hygiene rules, and biomedical waste segregation guidelines.

• Patient & Family Education: Explain treatment plans, home-care instructions, and recovery steps to patients and their families.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) or B.Sc. Nursing degree.

• Registration: Valid registration with a State Nursing Council or the Indian Nursing Council.

• Experience: Fresher to 3+ years of hospital experience (specialized roles in ICUs, PICUs, or Obstetrics/Gynaecology may require prior departmental experience).

• Key Skills: Strong clinical knowledge, effective communication, teamwork, time management, and the ability to work rotational shifts.
