Substation Design Engineer

Job Purpose: We are looking for an experienced Substation Design Engineer for our Renewable Energy Projects (ISTS/Captive) with 6-10 years of experience. The candidate will be responsible for the design and engineering of EHV Substations up to 400kV for solar and wind projects. The role requires a strong background in substation electrical design, Primary & Secondary engg., detailed engineering, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and compliant project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Site Assessment:

• Lead the front-end, preliminary, and detailed design of EHV substations for renewable energy projects (Solar PV/Wind).
• Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD), layout plans, AC & DC SLDs, and detailed engineering documents for substations.
• Proficient in primary and secondary engg. of 400kV Substation.
• Conduct electrical calculations for earthing systems, lightning protection, illumination design, SCF, Conductor Sizing and other critical substation components sizing calculation.
• Prepare RFPs for EHV substations (ISTS/Captive Renewable EPC Packages).
• Conduct in-depth GIS/AIS substation design up to 400kV, including equipment sizing, layout design, and auxiliary system design.
• Perform engineering calculations for battery sizing, CT & VT sizing, MV & LT cables, auxiliary transformer sizing, etc.
• Review and finalize technical documentation such as Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical data sheets.
