Senior Software Engineer I

The U.S. Consumer Services team is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Consumer Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, Global Dining, U.S. Consumer Banking, Amex Offers, and best-in-class marketing programs across Customer, Prospect, and Partner channels. The USCS team is focused on making membership an indisputable competitive advantage and helping each other become better leaders every day. Senior Software Engineer I leads the full software development lifecycle, ensures technical excellence and adherence to best practices, mentors and coaches junior engineers, and collaborates cross-functionally to achieve organizational goals.

• Mentors junior Software Engineers and cross-functional team of colleagues, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation
• Provides guidance and support to junior engineers, fostering professional growth and development within the team
• Directs the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and systems
• Oversees a variety of tasks, platforms, and technologies to expand new and existing software to meet changing requirements
• Writes automated unit tests to ensure correctness and stability
