Job description
Job Purpose To lead and implement occupational health, safety, and environmental initiatives across the plant, ensuring compliance with applicable statutory requirements, preventing workplace accidents, and developing a strong safety culture across all operational areas. 2. Key Responsibilities A. Health & Safety Management
- Develop, implement, and monitor the plant's HSE policies, procedures, and annual safety plans.
- Ensure compliance with applicable factory, occupational safety, fire safety, and environmental legislation.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of production areas, furnaces, rolling mills, material handling, utilities, maintenance workshops, and other plant facilities.
- Identify workplace hazards and implement risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and appropriate control measures.
- Monitor compliance with PPE requirements, safe operating procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
- Ensure safe practices for hot work, work at height, confined space entry, electrical isolation/LOTO, and heavy lifting operations.
B. Accident Prevention & Investigation
- Investigate accidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions.
